Obituary of Jane DiDomenico
JANE DAVIDSON DIDOMENICO
Jane Davidson Di Domenico, longtime New Canaan resident, died peacefully on February 23, 2016 surrounded by her family.
Jane was born to John and Margaret Fox Davidson on July 30, 1932 in Fort Edward, New York. She spent her childhood years in Fort Edward with her sister Ann and her brothers, Eddie and Billy, and graduated from Fort Edward High School in 1950.
In 1956, she married her high school sweetheart, Ralph Di Domenico, and began a journey that would span fifty-six years of marriage. In the fifteen-year time period from 1956 to 1971, they moved ten times all over the country while Ralph pursued a career with Pfizer Inc. Jane played an instrumental role in that thirty-four year career and she settled the family into new houses, new school districts, new churches and new communities. Ultimately, they settled down in New Canaan. Entertaining became a big part of her life and she excelled at it. She also enjoyed summer vacations in Wells Beach, Maine, family reunions and cruises to Bermuda. Family was her greatest joy – daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, friend – these were the roles to which she was most devoted.
Jane is survived by her four children: Mary Margaret Pitt (Larry) of New Canaan, Connecticut; Patrick (Gena Gaughan) of Burlington Vermont and Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Mark of Redding, Connecticut and Andrew (Kelly) of Raleigh, North Carolina along with eight grandchildren: Hannah and Alexander Pitt; Tara Di Domenico Siri (Kent) and Daniel Di Domenico; Ryan and Shelby Di Domenico and Stephanie and Natalie Di Domenico as well as several beloved nieces, nephews and their children. She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph, who passed away in 2012, as well as her parents and siblings. She leaves a legacy of devotion to family and friends and many cherished memories.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday February 26, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Aloysius Church, 21 Cherry Street, New Canaan, Connecticut. Interment will be private and will take place in Fort Edward, NY. There will be no calling hours.
