In life we may forget what someone has said, what someone has done, but we tend to never forget how someone made us feel. I will never forget that about Al and his family. My heart hurts for the loss of a friend but smiles for the gratitude I have for the moments that will always remain. The Nickel familys peace and strength remains in my prayers.

Dear Nickel family, My prayers are with you in the loss of Al. What a sad, sad loss for all of us who knew him. Al was a true gentleman, smart, authentic and humble and with a smile that could light up anyones day. I had the privilege of meeting him as a client, about 15 years ago, and it was one of the best decisions ever. To him I owe knowing some of my best friends, and knowing what good looks like. Rest in peace, Al. Thank you for asking us all better people.

My condolences to Als family. He was truly a giant among us. As an adopted member of the MedEc family, he was a regular participant at the dinosaurs golf outing. His passing leaves an unfullible void. May he rest in Peace.

Dear Family of Al: Ive know Al as we have both served on the Board of the Orthopaedic Foundation for Dr. Plancher. Al was always very kind and dedicated to the OF cause. I ran into Al when we got to the Gala last Wednesday and he was kidding me that he was going to use my number to make his bids so that I could pay. He was very jovial and looked very dapper in his tux. That was my last image of Al. Always keen witted and an overall nice guy. I want to extend my deepest sympathy to you. Im sure you are still in a state of shock as are all of the Board members. I wanted to attend the funeral mass, but unfortunately, I am traveling out of town for Thanksgiving. I pray that God will watch over you and keep you in his care. My deepest sympathy, Mary Ellen Yacura

Al was an incredible person who built a great organization with a legacy of current and former employees that were all touched by his grace and role as the paterfamilias of LLNS. His energy and enthusiasm for the agency was something to behold and the extent to which I benefited from it, in so many ways, becomes stronger and clearer with the passing of time. His indefatigability was inspiring. Our heartfelt condolences to Dana, Grace and Olivia. Cameron, Joy, Will and Alison Munro

Knowing how much he loved Dana, Grace and Olivia makes me smile at the thought of what a wonderful life he was so very proud to tell people about. Having him in my life makes me smile at how very lucky I was to know him. He touched so many lives. Rest peacefully my friend until we meet again. xoxox
