Obituary of Dianne Murphy
Dianne M. Murphy, a longtime Wilton resident, died in her home on Saturday, October 24th at the age of 63.
Dianne was the oldest of three, born on July 25, 1952 to Gerald and Anne Murphy. She later graduated from the University of New Mexico with a degree in Psychology. Although Dianne spent many years in the corporate world, she loved spending time in the garden and, in particular, playing golf. After retiring in 2009, if you didn’t see her walking the course, filling in divots, you could find her volunteering at the Wilton Turnover Shop or traveling with her partner and friends.
Dianne was a courageous woman who passed away surrounded by her partner of 20 years, Ben Briggs, and daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Mike Leach. She is also survived by her mother, Anne Murphy; sister Bridia and her son Ryan; step and extended family Katie, Tom, Anna and Henry Wilder, Sara, Trent, Elizabeth and Grace Staats, Lauren, Gary, Andrew and Bryan Paxton, Sara, Jimmy, Meghan, Ellie Newman and Ben, Lisa and Sean Briggs. She is preceded in death by her father, Gerald, brother, Matthew, and stepdaughter, Karen.
Visiting hours will be held Wednesday October 28, 2015 from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main St., New Canaan, CT.
