Mrs. Mary (Macari) Crolla, age 95 passed away peacefully Friday September 4th, 2015 at her home in New Canaan. She was predeceased by her husband Alfred J. Crolla in 1996. Mary was born in Settefrati, Italy on May 23rd, 1920, daughter of the late Benedetto and Antonia (Buzzeo) Macari. She is survived by her son Dr. Rick Crolla and his wife Barbara of New Canaan, a granddaughter Calie Crolla of New Canaan and three sisters, Dorothy Coletta of Madison, CT, Phyllis "Fanny" Minkel of Knoxville, TN and Josephine Desgro of Norwalk, CT. Mary was predeceased by her five brothers Cesare "Jerry" Macari, Charles Macari, Frank Macari Sr., Lorenzo "Buddy" Macari and Domenick "Moe" Macari. The family would like to thank Lola Blake for her years of care for Mary. Her kindness and compassion will always be remembered. A viewing will take place on Monday, September 14th from 9:30AM to 11:00AM at Hoyt Funeral Home, followed by a prayer service at 11:00AM at the funeral home. Burial will take place immediately after the service at Lakeview Cemetery.
