Mrs. Nancy Eleanor (Chisholm) Bernier, 48, of Norwalk, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2015 at her home in Norwalk. Nancy was born in New Rochelle, New York on August 24, 1966, daughter of Barbara (Draught) Chisholm and the late Don Chisholm. She was a special needs caretaker for The Department of Mental Retardation for over 15 years, as well as serving in the same capacity for several other private organizations. Nancy was truly a 'Giver' as she spent much of her time volunteering for many charities and was always the first to offer support or a helping hand. Nancy was an accomplished equestrian rider, specifically show jumping and was happiest when surrounded by friends and family She leaves behind her mother, Barbara Chisholm of New Canaan, her husband Rory Bernier of Norwalk, two daughters, Kaitlyn Cassella and Kimberly Marshall, both of Norwalk, and a brother, Don Chisholm of Boca Raton, Florida. She was predeceased by her father and her sister, Linda Gaydosh. A memorial visitation will be held in Nancy’s honor on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 from 5:00pm - 8:00pm at Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main St., New Canaan, CT 06840.
