Obituary of Vera Romano
Vera M. Romano, 95, a New Canaan resident for the past 15 years, died Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at her home.
Born May 23, 1914, in Stamford, she was the daughter of the late Frank Gentile and Angela Marie Vagnone.
Mrs. Romano had worked for the London Dress Shop, the Modern Shop and Nora Zandre. She will always be remembered as a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who leaves behind many cherished memories.
She is survived by her daughter Margaret Re, her son- in-law Donald F. Re, Sr. and her beloved grandchildren, Donald F. Re, Jr., Brian M. Re and his wife Yana Re, Megan M. Re and a great granddaughter, Sophia Re.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Canio E. Romano, her sister, Lucy Vitti and her brother, Nunzio Gentile.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at St. Aloysius Church in New Canaan at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery, Darien.
There will be no calling hours.
