Obituary of Paula Dalrymple
Paula (Penny) Parks Dalrymple, 73, of New Canaan, CT passed away on February 25, 2015 at Norwalk Hospital with her loving husband, Eric, and daughters, Susan and Amy, by her side. Penny was born on June 20, 1941 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Richard Nelson and Paula Murphy Parks.
Penny was raised in Short Hills, NJ. She graduated from Briarcliff College in 1961 and married Eric in 1966. After residing in Rome, NY for two years and New Jersey for two years, the family moved to Lausanne, Switzerland in 1973 where they lived for more than seven years. While there Penny served as vice president of the American Women’s Club of Lausanne.
The family moved to New Canaan in late 1980. In New Canaan Penny was active in church, the Junior League, Young Life, Community Bible Study, and volunteer work in the New Canaan school system. Penny will be remembered for her love of travel, great culinary skills, her wonderful sense of humor, and her lively personality and ability to make people laugh and feel special.
In addition to her husband, Eric, Penny is survived by her two daughters, Susan Elizabeth Sullivan and her husband, Jordan Sullivan of Wilton, CT and Amy Brete Molway and her husband, David Molway of Canton, MA. Also surviving Penny are her four beloved grandchildren, Carly and Gwynn Sullivan and Hunter and Tyler Molway, and her sister Susan Parks Loomis, of Charlevoix, MI.
