Obituary of Ruth Littell
Ruth Larson Littell,
95, of Redding CT, passed away on Feb. 21, 2015 at her home with her loving family by her side. Ruth, the youngest of six children, was born on August 25, 1919 in Stamford, Ct. to the late Alfred and Agnes Anderson Larson, who immigrated from Sweden in 1900. Ruth was the wife of the late Nelson Littell Jr. of New Canaan, CT. As a devoted member of the Congregational Church of New Canaan she was a quiet, dedicated presence, particularly in her Prayer Shawl knitting group. She taught sewing for many years at the Rag Doll in Darien. Earning her gold pin for Red Cross blood donations was a wonderful achievement.
Ruth was also honored as volunteer of the year for her long service at the Visiting Nurses New Canaan Thrift Shop.
Ruth is survived by three daughters, Joyce Smith of Bethesda, MD.,Betty Ann Breese of Bloomington, MN, and Joan Smith of Guilford, CT. Also surviving Ruth are her five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
