Obituary of Carlos Lynch

Life Legacy Carlos J. Lynch Carlos J. Lynch, 89, of New Canaan, affectionately known as “Lynchy”, passed away Monday January 19, 2015, at Norwalk Hospital. He was surrounded by love. He was the widower of Beverly (Hines) Lynch. Born in Dubuque, Iowa, on September 20, 1925 to the late Joseph and Agnes (Curtis) Lynch, Carlos served his country with honor in the United States Army during the Second World War. He then earned his Bachelor’s Degree at St. Ambrose University before beginning his career at General Electric, where he would become an executive of the corporate benefits division. Carlos enjoyed the pleasure of his home & family. An avid Yankee fan, he took great pleasure in supporting his team. Carlos leaves behind two sons, Craig Lynch and his wife Wendy of New Canaan, and Mark Lynch of New Canaan; two daughters, Ann Lynch and Jane Devereux and her husband Bill, both of Waitsfield, Vermont; a brother, David Lynch of Spokane, Washington; two sisters, Eileen Forest of Pleasanton, California and Diane Thornton of Roseville, California; seven grandchildren, Kelley, Shannon, Tim, Chris, Troy, Liam & Sage; one great grandchild, Hailey, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife of 57 years, Carlos was predeceased by three sisters, Lois Yackshaw, Joanne Lemke and Janet Short. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, January 24, 2015, at 9:00 AM directly at St. Aloysius Church, 21 Cherry St., New Canaan, CT. Burial with full military honors will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. Services have been entrusted to Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main St., New Canaan, CT 06840.
