Mary A. Regan (nee Sheehy), 66, of South Salem, NY died on November 23, 2009. Formerly of Cloghane, Co. Kerry, Ireland, Mary was the beloved wife of the late Owen Joseph Regan. Loving mother of Kathleen (Richard) Rennert of Deer Park, NY, Joseph (Joan) Regan of Ridgefield, NJ, Martin Regan of South Salem, NY and Carolynn Regan of Astoria, NY. Cherished grandmother of Thomas and Kelly Rennert and Sean and Caitlin Regan. Devoted sister of James Sheehy of Cloghane, Co. Kerry, Ireland. Mary was a very religious woman and an active parishioner of St. Aloysius Church in New Canaan, CT. She was a very giving woman, always thinking of others. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed by all. Her native Irish heritage was always prevalent in her life, listening to her native Irish music often and having recently travelled home to Ireland to visit with extended family and friends. The family wishes all to think of Mary with the following Irish poem: May the road rise to meet you, May the wind be always at your back, May the sun shine warm upon your face, The rains fall soft upon your fields and, Until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of His hand. The family will receive friends at the Hoyt Funeral Home in New Canaan, CT on Sunday, November 29, 2009 from 2-6 PM. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 30, 2009 at St. Aloysius Church in New Canaan, CT at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery in Norwalk, CT.
