Antoinette B. Corr, age 88, of Wilton, CT died Monday November 24, 2014 in Norwalk Hospital, after a lengthy illness. Born in New Canaan on June 14, 1926, Ann was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Pauline Vitti. She wed Edmund Corr in 1947 and they were married until his death in 1987. Always athletic, Ann played basketball and field hockey at New Canaan High School and was an avid bowler as an adult. She could also be found on paddle tennis courts in the winter and Cape Cod in the summer, and hosted numerous spirited games of badminton in her back yard. Ann assisted nurses and patients at Silver HIll for more than two decades. She was a lifelong member of the parish at St. Aloysius. She lived in Wilton for 50 years, but remained close with New Canaan friends and extended family that hailed from Settefrati, Italy. Ann is survived by her sister Agnes Cherniavsky of Milford, CT and many loving nieces and nephews.In addition to her husband she was predeceased by her sister Agnes (at age 7) and her three brothers, Frank Vitti, Michael Vitti, and Anthony Vitti. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at noon at St. Aloysius Church, Cherry Street, New Canaan, interment to follow in Lakeview Cemetery, New Canaan. The family will receive friends at the Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main Street, New Canaan on Saturday from 9:30 to 11:30 AM, and at St. Aloysius’ Stapleton Hall after the mass. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wilton Volunteer Ambulance Corps at 234 Danbury Road in Wilton.
