Obituary of Carol Kapp
Carol B. Kapp, a longtime resident of New Canaan lost her battle with cancer and died on July 2 at the age of 82 years old. Mrs. Kapp was the daughter of Hosea Cushman Ballou and Edna Caukins Ballou (who are deceased) of Bronxville, NY.
She was educated at Bronxville and St. Mary’s School in Peekskill, NY where she graduated in 1949. She graduated from Merchant & Bankers School (a secretarial school) in NYC and worked for an architect’s office before taking a job at Nestles in White Plains, NY.
Married to William K. Kapp (deceased in January 2011) in 1953, she is survived by her two sons William K. Kapp Jr. and his wife Patricia I. Kapp of Ridgefield, CT and James B. Kapp of New Canaan, CT as well as four grandchildren Jim Kapp, Cindy Kapp, Whitney Kapp and Danny Kapp.
She volunteered many hours at Norwalk Hospital, Red Cross, Person to Person, Waveny Care Center and the New Canaan Library. Among her favorite interests, she loved fishing, caring for her pet dogs, vacationing in Maine, and spending time with her friends at the Lapham Community Center.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 16, 2:00 p.m. at the Hoyt Funeral Home of New Canaan. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the (W.A.S.A) Westport Animal Shelter Associates, 1 Tower Ridge Road, Westport, CT 06880.
