Obituary of Lois Inwood
Lois V. Inwood, age 88, a lifelong resident of New Canaan died Friday, June 28, 2013 at Lord Chamberlain Health Center in Stratford with her loving family by her side.
Born in Vista, NY February 11, 1925, she was the daughter of the late James and Nellie Westcott Jordan. Lois was the wife of the late James H. Inwood.
Lois was a celebrated athlete at New Canaan high school lettering in Softball, Basketball and Field Hockey and she was also a Cheerleader. Lois won an award for her dancing which she always loved and loved to ice skate.
She continued her love of sports vicariously throughout her life through watching the New York Mets Baseball team and was especially proud of the 1969 World Series winning team, the “Miracle Mets”. She also enjoyed watching her sons play sports and spending time with her daughter. Lois was always doing something in the yard spending as much time outdoors as possible.
In her later years she enjoyed going to tag sales with her sister Barbara and taking trips to Atlantic city with family and friends where she played the slots.
Lois is survived by her daughter , Kathleen Ambruso of Prospect, CT
Two sons, James T. Inwood and his wife Suellen , and Barry Inwood both of Trumbull, CT,
two brothers, Albert Jordan of Florida, and David Jordan of New York ,a sister Barbara Apy of New Canaan, 4 grandchildren who called her Nena and many nephews and nieces who knew her as Aunt Lolo.
She was predeceased by her brothers, John Jordan, William Jordan, Ralph Jordan, Robert Jordan and sister Dorothy Court.
Funeral Services and Interment are private.
