Gail, Maggie and Groves family, my deepest condolences on the loss of your amazing husband and father who certainly lived his life to the fullest. Having known and loved Gail since grade school, I am thankful for the wonderful life they had together and how happy they made each other. May his spirit watch over you, protect you, and play an occasional joke on you to let you know he’s there! Sending ❤️ love.

Gail and Family: Rodger was one of the first people I met upon my arrival in NYC in 1971…we worked together at the now-defunct JWT Agency, then followed one another at some point to C&W…where we all met and fell in love with Gail…so it is with deep sadness to hear of Rodger’s passing. Our occasional ROMEO reunions at the Lotos Club will never be the same without him. Paul Schwartz

My condolences to everyone. I worked for Rodger and Gail taking care of Maggie. He was a wonderful man who loved his family. One of my memory of him is those beautiful flowers he would send to Gail every week for years. I know because I collected them. May God strengthen everyone and remember it's the good memories that will help you all get through this time of loss with the help of Almighty God. God bless. Easton, Sandra and Zachary.

The world lost a great being. I have worked for Rodger and Gail for at least 15 years. In that time every time he saw me he greeted me with enthusiasm and his contagious smile, up until the end. I feel lucky to have known him. He lived a life well lived, not only in taking advantage of so many experiences, but in how he treated everyone around him. One of his last trips abroad was to my native Colombia and we would often spend time comparing stories. Rest in peace Rodger. My deepest condolences to Gail, Maggie, his children, his family and friends. ~ Ruby

I had the opportunity to serve Roger in the last months of his life, and it was a truly wonderful experience for me. He was an incredible person, very humane, with a marvelous sense of life. He understood the nuances of life and knew his transition was imminent, leaving behind a legacy of happiness and acceptance of death. I remember making his favorite mango and orange juice, and preparing poached eggs just the way he liked. Meeting a human being like him, along with his wife and family, has been a marvelous experience. Each of them carries Roger's essence in their interactions with others and humanity. May the wonderful light he brought to the world continue to shine in the space he now occupies, illuminating us here on Earth. Until we meet again, Rod. With gratitude, Monica Beltran.

Such a charming and charismatic man. A true gentleman. To have made it in advertising in New York of all places says a lot about Rodger's intelligence, wit, and easy rapport with people. If you can make it there, as the song goes. The days we spent skiing and, afterwards, enjoying a smuggler or two will remain long in my memory as will Rodger's ceaseless enthusiasm for life and skill with cooking steak. Much love to Gail and the rest of the family. May Roger's spirit live forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. I will be singing The Girl from Ipanema in the shower in his honour. Vale, Rodger.

I'll always remember Roger walking in the park with his dogs running up ahead and calling them thinking that possibly I was in the park and they were coming to visit me. He would give me a hug and we'd laugh at how the dogs could sniff me out no matter where I was in that park. I will always remember Roger as sweet and loving, always positive, happy and generous. My condolences Gail to you, Courtney and Maggie and your family. Much love, Laura Horelick

I have chosen a yellow candle as it’s my favourite colour and Rodger and Gail are my favourite friends, my besties. We have shared holidays all over the world on a yearly basis. These times were always planned and discussed with much laughter and love, and it always meant we had a joyous time to anticipate. Much chat about books, music, movies and always politics, we came back from time with Rodger feeling his spirit, laughter and love. One of the world’s great people we were both so lucky to know. Rodger and I grew up together in Altadena, California, going through the same school experiences all the way through John Muir High School. Although we travelled in different circles, I always thought of Rodger as "the guy most likely to succeed." Reading his obituary, it is clear that he did succeed in so many beautiful ways. He lived a beautiful life, brought happiness to all those around him and also to himself. We should all be so fortunate. There are few that I remember from those wonderful years in Altadena and he is one of them.

I was always in awe of my Uncle. He lived an amazing life, had a beautiful family, and was just one cool and good looking guy. He told me all his favorite spots in NYC and they have become mine. I never miss a vist to PJ Clarke's when in NY. He was one of the good guys and I am beyond proud to say he is my Uncle. Headed to grab a drink and sing in the shower.

I love Rodger because he loved advertising as much as I do. And Rodger was the consummate advertising account man. The look, the friendly attitude, and the stories. I could listen all day.
I’m also indebted to Rodger because I launched my charity, Sacred People, at his party.
The encouragement I got that night from Rodger and friends propelled me to create a unique charity for Native Americans.
When I was about to present to a council of Native Americans at the Grand Canyon they told me I needed a business plan…
RODGER! I need a business plan for Sacred People. Bam! I got my business plan within hours.
One of the Navajo board members said to me jokingly after I read the business plan, “White man write good shit.”
Yea, that was Rodger-“GOOD SHIT!”.
I’m going to miss him, I can picture him in the Happy Hunting grounds telling advertising stories to amazed Native Americans.
Johnny friend of Rodger.

What a wonderful memory of Rodger’s life, you brought to life Gail! We enjoyed our times so much whether cooking muscles in your kitchen, skiing, golf or just cocktailing somewhere near the water and sunset. He was a very good friend to us and we will miss him dearly.
