Obituary of Thomas Henry Dubay

Thomas Henry Dubay, a lifelong resident of New Canaan, CT passed away on December 12, 2023. Tom was born on June 6, 1957 in Stamford Connecticut, to the late Robert Eugene “Sid” Dubay and Rachel Violette Dubay.

Tom attended St. Aloysius Catholic School, and graduated from New Canaan High School in 1975. He was most recently employed at the Gulf Station in New Canaan. After graduating High School he worked for New Canaan Fuel and Lumber Company. He then went on to work for his father at Pound Ridge Auto Body until he took over the business in 1999 where he remained as the owner and operator for 20 years.

Tom was a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and was a beloved member of the New Canaan community. Family and Friends were always the highest priority for Tom. You could always count on him to be there to celebrate Birthdays and Holidays, and to attend the countless sporting, and other events of his Niece, Nephews and Godchildren. It brought him such happiness to celebrate the accomplishments of someone he loved. In a word, he was selfless, someone you could always count on to show up when called upon. He was ready and more than willing to help his family, friends, and members of the community in any way he could. He was a staple in New Canaan, and was a reflection of the values you hope to find in a community.

Tom is survived by his siblings Denise (John) DiFulvio of New Canaan, CT, and David (Paula) Dubay of Norwalk, CT. He is also survived by his nephews and niece, Adam John DiFulvio of Hartford, CT, Craig Robert (Jessica) DiFulvio of North Haven, CT, and Rachel Catherine (Michael) Lott of Norwalk, CT. He is also survived by his great nieces Harper Rae Lott of Norwalk, CT, and Ava Violette DiFulvio of North Haven, CT, and extended family.

Tom is also survived by his five godchildren Hoyt Palmer, Emily Jones, Craig DiFulvio, Jennifer Dimuzio, and Troy Lynch.
