Marian J. Maguire age 90, a longtime New Haven resident died Sunday evening August 17, 2014 in Ct Hospice, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Dorchester, MA, June 16, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Sara McVeigh McCarten. Marian was predeceased by her husband John. Marian retired from Macy's after a 25 year career she so enjoyed. During her retirement years, she enjoyed volunteering at St Raphael's Hospital and the Mary Wade Home. She enjoyed spending time with her very large family, especially holidays and special lunches. She was a woman of great strength and conviction and will be sadly missed by all. Survivors include her five children, Mary Jane Schettino, and Patricia Ferraro both of North Branford; Carole (Joe) Camerato of Northford; Larwrence (Betty) Maguire of Marlborough, and Judy (Tom) Cicalese of New Canaan. Also survived by 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by her son Jack Maguire, and her granddaughters, Michelle Schettino and Donna Foster. Her funeral procession will leave the PORTO FUNERAL HOME 234 Foxon Rd (Rte. 80) East Haven THURSDAY morning at 9:30 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Augustine Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Friends may call WEDNESDAY from 5pm to 8pm.
