Bruce R. Baron MD


Bruce Robert Baron, 85, long time resident of New Canaan, passed away on July 7 in Norwalk, CT. He was born in 1938 in Manhattan, NY, son of Leon and Eleanor Dailey Baron. Dr. Baron received his medical degree from Chicago Medical School and practiced Internal Medicine first in the United States Navy serving in the Vietnam War and later stationed at Camp Pendleton Naval Hospital in California receiving the National Defense Service Medal.


After an honorable discharge from the Navy, Dr. Baron MD opened a private practice in Stamford, CT where he served the local communities in affiliation with Stamford Hospital Staff until he retired in 2018.  


Dr. Baron was a life-long sports enthusiast, having skied at the world’s most renown resorts, swam at the Italian Center, played tennis at Mead Park and paddle tennis at Waveny Park. He is survived by his wife Joan Schott Baron, his sister Loraine and loving daughter Cassandra.


There will be a memorial service on Saturday, September 9th from  3:00-5:00pm at Hoyt Funeral Home in New Canaan.
