Obituary of Julia Anne Burke
Julia Anne Burke, a longtime resident of the Southbury Training School, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2023, at the age of 81.
To say that she was beloved by all is an understatement! Julia had a keen sense of humor and a contagious laugh that was easy to recognize. Many STS staff and residents will fondly remember her greeting folks as they entered the Gatehouse Cafe on the grounds of the Training School. Julia had a special place in her heart for babies, and kitty cats. She was always busy helping others, and working on her coloring books.
Julia was preceded in death by her mother, Genevieve Stevens Burke, and her father, William J. Burke, Sr., of Norwalk, Ct. She is survived by her brother, William J.Burke, Jr., of Williamsburg, Va, and by her nephews, Eric and Scott Burke.
A funeral Mass for Julia is scheduled for 11am on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Southbury, Ct. She will be buried next to her mother at the Lakeview Cemetery, in New Canaan, Ct.
