Obituary of Manfred Seyring

Manfred H. Seyring “Fred” passed away at home on Sunday morning April 10, 2022. His daughter Melanie was with him when he passed. Manfred died due to complications of a long time illness. He was 70 years old.

 

Manfred was born in Mainz, Germany, on December 31, 1951. He was predeceased by his father Harold J. Seyring in 2021 and his mother Anneliese Wenk Seyring in 2012, both of New Canaan, CT, and originally Mainz, Germany.

 

After arriving in the USA in 1957 Manfred, his mother and father moved to New Canaan, CT. They remained New Canaan residence their whole lives. Manfred was a New Canaan High School graduate. He held a degree in Forestry and Wildlife Conservation as well.   Fred enjoyed television, Sci-Fi, Ray Harry Hausen Films, old monster and horror movies featuring actors like Bella Lagosi, Lon Chaney Jr., Boris Karloff, The Three Stooges, Abbot and Costello, Laurel and Hardy, John Wayne, Peter Cushings, Christopher Lee, and the goes on. He loves nature, music, and history as well.

 

In 1973 Manfred married Deborah J. Courte (Seyring) Dann of South Salem, NY, now of Hoosick Falls, NY. They had their daughter Melanie in 1976. They divorced in 1984 and remained lifelong friends.

 

 

Manfred was a carpenter and truck driver by trade and hobby. He worked throughout the 1980’s at New Canaan Fuel and Lumber, The Stamford Museum and Nature Center followed by Howard Toms Tree Service in New Canaan for many years.  

 

 

Manfred was survived by his daughter Melanie L. Seyring-Wolfe 45 of Bennington, VT, originally of New Canaan, CT. Her children Jesse G. Wolfe,23,  Shawn D. Wolfe,23, Krystal A. Wolfe ,11, and Hunter Wolfe, 10, of Bennington, VT, formerly, of Bethel, CT.

 

A Memorial for Manfred will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday May 14, 2022 at the Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main Street, New Canaan, CT, all are welcome to attend.
