Obituary of Lillian Bantz
Lillian Frances Bantz, age 80, of South Salem, NY, formerly of New Canaan, CT, died Thursday July 3, 2014 at Norwalk Hospital with her loving family by her side. Born in Yonkers, NY she was the daughter of the late William and Katherine Wallens Casey.
Lillian was the cherished wife of George H. Bantz for over 61 years, the devoted mother of her four children, and a parishioner at St. Aloysius Church. She enjoyed evenings at the beach, family get togethers, theater, reading, and, in recent years, developed a passion for the New York Yankees. For many years, she held administrative positions at several small companies in New Canaan and Stamford.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, William Bantz of Portland, Maine, two daughters, Katherine Ann Kolb and her husband Phillip of Kennett Square, PA, Jeanne E. Lazo-Wasem and her husband Eric of Redding Ridge, CT, five grandchildren, Phillip, Eric,Ian,Elizabeth and Emily, and one great-granddaughter, Ella. She was predeceased by a daughter, Eileen M. Bantz.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday July 7, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St Aloysius Church, New Canaan ,with Interment to follow in Lakeview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
