Obituary of Margaret Wilson Kinney
Margaret Wilson Kinney, 93, of Wilton, CT, passed away on July 13, 2021, in her residence at the Greens at Cannondale. Margaret was born on April 5, 1928, in Hanover, NH, to the late Carl Louis and Ellen Sands Wilson. Her father was a professor of Botany at Dartmouth College.
Growing up in Hanover, she attended Hanover public schools. After graduating from Brown University, she lived in Pawtucket, RI, for two years before moving to Darien, CT.
Margaret pursued oil painting and knitting during her lifetime and enjoyed the outdoors, skiing in the winter, sailing, and visiting Marthas Vineyard in the summer.
Margaret was passionate about visiting local antique shops, collecting unique items, and decorating her home.
Cooking was an important part of her life, especially holiday meals with delicious recipes handed down from her mother.
Surviving family members include her son David Kinney and wife, Kathleen Kinney of Marblehead, Massachusetts, and grandson David Kinney of Northfield, VT.
Her burial will be in the Hanover Cemetary, Hanover, NH.
