Obituary of William Peter Schloth

Bill Schloth, 84, formerly of New Canaan, CT, was reunited with his beloved wife, Rita Schloth, on May 27, 2021 after valiantly battling Parkinson’s for many years. He was born in New York on May 17, 1937, the third of Edward and Mary Cass Schloth’s six sons.

He started in the stockroom of a Volkswagen dealership and worked his way up to President of World Wide Volkswagen/Porsche/Audi Corporation. Bill met the love of his life, Rita Reilly, while they were still teenagers in Breezy Point.  Rita passed away in January 2014.  He loved nothing better than sharing laughs and making memories with family and numerous friends and would do anything for them.

Bill leaves behind  three adoring children, Dorothy Barat (Scott), Bill Schloth (MaryEllen) and Carolyn Turiano (Gary), and eight spoiled wonderful grandchildren, Jennifer Schloth, Becky Anderson (James), Jessica Sgalardi (Rich), Andrew Barat, Evan Turiano, Bill Schloth, Jr,  Bob Schloth and Michael Turiano.  The world is better, more joyful place because of the memories and love he left behind.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on June 7, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Aloysius Church 21 Cherry Street, New Canaan and will be live streamed. A walk through visitation will be held on Sunday June 6, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Hoyt Funeral Home 199 Main Street, New Canaan.
