Bob, Kyra, and all the Gerardi children in Virginia posted a condolence
Tuesday, June 1, 2021
From the moment he entered our lives, Uncle Gerry brought kindness, fun, and affection to us all. His love of life and family was constant. As attorneys, Kyra and I were so lucky to have Uncle Gerry as a role model and a source of wise counsel. He was always ready to put aside whatever book he was reading lakeside (and there were always very many) to talk passionately about law, history, and sports (especially his Yankees). His gentle, intelligent, and loving spirit will be greatly missed and he will always be close to our hearts.

What a wonderful, loving and faithful man was my dear brother-in-law, Gerry. He not only stood by my sister for these many years, but he has been a true father to Michael and my children and a kind and supportive friend to me. No family could have hoped for a better man to join and embrace our family and share his with us. We shall miss him terribly, but we thank God for the faith to believe that he is now with God, Himself. Lovingly, Betty Jo and Gerry

Some of the absolute best memories from my childhood include this amazing man! He was calm and dignified in every situation, which was not always easy! A favorite memory was when we were in Ireland and Uncle Gerry was driving through the narrow streets on Kinsale...I will just say that thankfully the side-view mirrors on our rental car, and the cars parked on the street, were on springs! Uncle Gerry please continue to smile down on us, guide us, and warm us with your ever shining light! We miss you, but will find comfort together sharing amazing memories of you, and in the fact that we will be together again one day! Love to all!

Your Uncle Gerry loved you very much Christa, this I know. And he will be happy one day to see you again and we can all laugh at the fact that that side view mirror did not fare so well! In fact if the car owner is up there with us I will apologize face to face for lopping off his mirror that day!

Dear aunt Mary and family,
When I think of my uncle Gerry I remember a kind, generous and loving man of integrity who had a strong devotion to family and the Church. I was so grateful when my aunt Mary and uncle Gerry met and married as he and his children were a wonderful addition to our family. I always loved looking down at the Point from my lake house and seeing my uncle sitting in his chair enjoying Kinderhook Lake while our family played and swam nearby.
We miss him already!
Much love,
Chuppie xo

And believe me Kathy when I say that your uncle loved you and your family as much as you loved him. He was always so happy when there was someone "next door" at the Gerardi's! Someone to play golf with(your dad) or talk politics with (Nephew Chris) or just laugh with (all of you!) He loved you all and now loves you again from his heavenly perch in Heaven. God bless you.

Dear Mary & family,
It was an honor to know Gerry. I remember sitting with him at Christmas Eve. Mass while you were a reader on the altar. He was so proud of you as you read so eloquently. I am deeply saddened to learn of his passing.
My sympathy and love during this difficult time for you.
You will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Love,
Val Willey
