We are so grieved by the very sad news of Leslie’s shocking and untimely death. Every summer we had the pleasure of her visits to Boston where she would brighten up the day with her unique spirit, special insights and generous nature. I’ll never forget her wonderful laugh as she would always get a real kick out of my husband Tim and her dear friend, Bird. Included is a picture taken of her at our house in Belmont. Our deepest condolences to family and friends, such a great loss. She will be remembered by everyone who ever met her.

My sincere condolences to Leslie's family and friends. Leslie was my friend and neighbor at our Farnsworth Street studios in Boston. We both then moved to Somerville, MA as founders and members of the Brickbottom Artist Building. Leslie was a wonderful artist -- one of her beautiful pastels hangs in my dining room. She was funny, generous, and patient, so I'm sure she was an extraordinary teacher.

In the summer of 2008 Leslie Concannon arrived at my farm in Old Saybrook to take a class called “Painting at the Hay House.” I could see from Leslie’s first painting that there wasn’t much that I could teach such a gifted artist, but Leslie continued to come every week. She and I came up with the idea for a weekly “Artists’ Lunch,” which we have continued for the past eleven summers. About ten kindred spirits ( and many guests) get together for a potluck lunch, lively discussions, and painting time in the garden. In the last few years the painting time has decreased somewhat and the discussions, often political, have increased.
Leslie died on May 18th, leaving a big hole in our Artists’ lunch group, and in our lives. We’ll miss you, Leslie.

Leslie, I miss you already! I will miss our holidays together and our fun trips. Especially loved our trips to Harbour Island and your visits to Canada! You were always so much fun to be around. We always appreciated our dinners at Saugatuck Shores and visits at The Hill. Our family gatherings will not be the same without you! Your 2 co-pilots, Henry and Nicholas will be well cared for but they miss you too! You have joined a growing list of our beloved family members so I am sure you are in good hands. Rest in peace.

Leslie was a fellow colleague in our Connecticut studios for many years. Her self-effacing manner, easy smile and beautifully fresh, plein air paintings will be missed by us all. The excitement she showed when speaking of her students in New York was evident in the glimmer of her eyes.... she no doubt left a lasting love for creativity with each of them. My sincerest condolences to her Mom and sister, as well as other relatives during this very difficult time. Rest peacefully, my friend~

So sad to hear of Leslie passing.
Would always enjoy seeing her when she lived next to a company I worked for on the Harlem River in the Bronx. Couldn’t believe it was her first time I saw her walking her Dog.Would also see her when she moved to Riverdale being I was in that area often. She was so sweet and laid back and I’m glad to have many memories of her.
