First, may her memory always be a blessing. She was small but mighty, to all of us, growing up- that was more then 50 years earlier.
The James Family was important to many, going to high school with Bea and Lem, all the fun and shenanigans we enjoyed. Mrs. James was always there....and I believe I saw that "look" a few times, but always felt loved. She catered my wedding, and even though we have lived extreme distances apart- Bea and I have remained dear friends, picking up where we left off. I know it was a total heartbreaking experience when we all lost Lem. He was supposed to be invincible. I was always hoping Lerm would play football for the Terps when I was there.
To the strong James Girls....you had an incredible role model in your mom, and you are so lucky to have her all these years. You all were wonderful daughters.
Much love and sincere condolences~

Marietta was a wonderful woman. Wise, warm, funny, no-nonsense. Marietta worked hard and had a heart of gold. I am so sorry for your loss.

Bea, Jennifer and Pam,
I didn't know your mom in her earlier days, but at Waveny, she was truly the belle of the ball. Everyone (mostly me) wanted to be wearing what she was wearing. Her sense of fashion was picture perfect. I also admired her concern for those around her and her strength. I will miss her and you all and hope your memories will ease the pain I'm sure you are feeling.
