Obituary of Patricia D. Roberts

Patricia “Patty” Duff Roberts 79, long time resident of New Canaan, CT., passed away peacefully on April 24, 2020. Patty was born in Philadelphia, PA., on July 19, 1940 to the late William and Lillian Duff. A 1958 graduate of Nether Providence High School in Wallingford, PA., Patty remained in the Wallingford area until 1978 when she moved with her husband and daughters to Lake Forest, IL and then eventually settled in New Canaan in 1981. She enjoyed playing tennis and bridge, was actively involved in League of Women Voters as well as her daughters’ school PTAs. Patty loved spending her summers in Stone Harbor, NJ both as a child and an adult and always treasured her time at “the shore”. She was an avid sports watcher and was especially passionate for her love of the Philadelphia Eagles and TCU Horned Frogs. Patty spent her working years in the financial industry and retired with Janney Montgomery Scott in Darien, CT. Patty is survived by Nancy (daughter) and Kevin Kelley of Stamford, CT; Susan (daughter) and David Heidenrich of San Antonio, TX; Deborah (sister) and John Platt of Media, PA. One of her most treasured gifts in life were her grandchildren, whom she was lovingly known by as Granny and Kiki. She was loved immensely and, while we will miss her forever, we have faith that she is dancing the streets of gold in heaven with those we love whom have gone before her. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff and care providers at Waveny Life Care Network and Stamford Hospital. A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Patricia Roberts to the Cardiac Center at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Checks made out to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Foundation can be mailed to P.O. Box 781352, Philadelphia, PA 19178-1352. Please remember to write in memory of Patricia Roberts on the memo line of the check. Gifts may also be made online at chop.edu/give.
