I'm a '75 Barnabas classmate of Peter's and have nice memories of his constant smile and big heart. I recall he and Tannian were inseparable. I had a good seat as they dominated the low post on Barnabas and Van Courtlandt hoops courts. Opponents did not mess with them. Peter went out of his way to say hi a few years ago, at Peter Cooper's Woodlawn Open golf event, to honor his brother Danny. after over 40 yrs, I recognized Peter right away, coming across the room with his barrel chest and youthful smile. It made my day. I'm grateful to have known him. My prayers are with you and your children, Trish. Cliff

Peter, you are an alpha-personality from the Bronx, full bred Yankee fan, Giants fan and baseball aficionado. Thank you, my dear friend, for looking past my resume as a short Dallas, TX-born Filipino Cowboy fan, and complete baseball illiterate, when you asked if I would be your assistant coach for Ryan’s and Ben’s first travel baseball team. So glad I said “Yes” and “buckled in” for what would turn out to be a 5 year ride. Your friendship and brotherhood have been a true privilege for me. Thank you for sharing your big heart with the New Canaan community. I will miss you, my friend.

Wow- such a shock and a loss for words. Peter was such a positive, gregarious, and outgoing guy who instantly made others feel comfortable. He loved to laugh and make others laugh. We shared lots of good memories. He was truly the life of the party. And- yet, he was also a special loving soul who gave generously from his heart. A wonderful cousin to us all. The world will forever mourn this great loss. RIP and Godspeed Peter. (Surely- you've got the angels cracking up and partying along with you!) - Katherine McAleer Ferrara

Peter and I shared the same birthday. About 30 years ago on our birthday Margaret and I were in a cab in the city. We stopped at a light and sitting in a cab next to us was Mac. He screams out happy birthday brother and laughed that unforgettable laugh. He says where are you going. I forget where we were going but Mac got out of his cab and jumped in ours and we celebrated together. Great guy. Rest well brother.

On the heels of our Mothers passing in July, and now Peters passing, I am at a loss for words, but I do know God didn't bring Patricia and her kids this far to drop them. Peters spirit will live on forever with them. Peter was great guy, doted on and proud of his kids, adored and cherished his loving wife, my sister, Patricia. One of Peters legacies will be his allegiance to his beloved NY Yankees. He took it to another level !!!

Trish ,Peter, Nicole and Ryan,
We are so sorry for the loss of your father. He was an amazing Dad, an incredible husband and a wonderful neighbor. We will all miss him and his gigantic smile and huge personality. He lit up a room the second he walked into it. No one ever had to ask Peter twice to help out on anything. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

I first met Peter when my family moved to Woodlawn in 1971. He was the first person in Woodlawn to invite Michael and I down to his house for wiffle ball games. Of course I hadn't heard of wiffle ball, I'm sure Michael did, so naturally I was labelled a scrub. Believe me when I say I was a scrub but now I am damn proud of it. Peter would take me on his team many times and I started to improve, once a scrub always a scrub though. It was an honor to know you Peter----RIP.
