John Francis “Jack” Maguire, Jr. age 66 of Willoughby, OH, formerly of New Haven, CT, died Friday, March 8, 2013 in Ohio after a brief illness. Born in New Haven, CT, June 1, 1946, he was the son of Marian McCartan Maguire of New Haven and the late John F. Maguire Sr. Jack was retired but had worked as a truck driver for many years, and was a member of the Teamsters Union. Jack was a graduate of Hillhouse High School-class of 1964 and he was a U.S. Air Force Veteran having served in Vietnam. He enjoyed the more subtle things in life and cherished his solitude. He was a passionate person, a great story teller, enjoyed fishing and biking. Jack was a loving Son, Father, Brother, Uncle, and best friend. In addition to his mother, Jack is survived by his longtime companion Kate Fink and his former wife Scarlett “Scotty” Maguire, his loving son, John F. Maguire, III and his wife Shelby of Phoenix, AZ, a brother Lawrence Maguire and his wife Betty of Marlborough, CT , four sisters, MaryJane Schettino and Patricia Ferraro both of North Branford, CT, Carole Camerato and her husband Joseph of Northford, CT, and Judy Cicalese and her husband Tom of New Canaan, CT, a step-daughter Jennifer Holleran, her son Joseph, and several nieces and nephews also survive. His first grandchild, John F. Maguire IV, is expected in April. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, March 23 10:00 AM at St. Augustine's Church, 30 Caputo Road, North Branford, CT.
