Our prayers are with you and your family. Reid was a dear friend for many years, and graciously welcomed our family when we moved to New Canaan, and our families quickly became life long friends. Reid will be greatly missed. and you all remain in my thoughts and prayers as always. Love, Tommy Johnson

Reid and I became acquainted playing the trombone together in various community bands. I regret that I am out of town through Tuesday and therefore cannot attend the memorial. My deepest condolences to Reid's friends and family.

Momma II, Allison, Bruce, Jeff, Martha and Susie, I am so sorry to hear of your father's death. I realize we have all known each other for 41 years. And I too loved him, as you know. Although I know that his long health battles and suffering is over, yours, I am sure is changing or beginning. I hope you can find solace in the fact that he was a great husband, fine man, and a wonderful father (even to us "Johnson girls"!). And when y'all took my little cousin Johnny (now 6'4"!) and taught him to play baseball etc... when he was only 3 or 4. Your Dad even "screened Jan's and my dates" for a Sadie Hawkins dance!!! (I have the picture!) When he graciously allowed me to live at your home my senior year of High School. I will never forget all of the years our families ate together, played, picked apples, fished (even though Martha wouldn't bait her own hook!!!)and went to church together. No one could scrub a kitchen floor like your Dad!!! The last time I saw him, I picked him up in Charlotte and drove him over to Bev's where your Mother and she were busy fixing food for a celebration! My heart, love and prayers go out to all of you - Love Always and Forever, June
