Karen Kennedy-Woodcock of Englewood, Florida, died peacefully, after a short illness, on 4/12/09. Karen was born to Joseph and Dorothy (Arnold) Kennedy on February 21, 1948 in Stamford, CT. She graduated from Rippiwam High School and then from Stamford Institute of Hair Dressing and was a licensed hair dresser for many years. On July 31, 1971 she married Ed Woodcock of South Salem, N.Y. She and Ed owned and operated Ridgefield Tire in Ridgefield, CT. for many years before her employment at Georgetown Motors. Karen’s life was full due to her compassion for many things, but mostly she embraced her friends, valued her personal time and adored her husband of 38 years. Karen and Ed could be seen riding their Harley's on any sunny day in the summer. Karen is survived by her devoted husband Ed, her sisters in law Jean and husband Gary Wolfe, of Mason, N.H. Marie Jones and partner Joe LeMieux of Corinth, VT her niece Denise and husband Shane Thurston of Corinth, VT, her nephew Dennis Jones and partner Karen DuBios of East Topsham, VT and one great niece Shania Marie Thurston of Corinth, VT. A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 17, 2009, at 11:30 AM at Long Ridge Union Cemetery, Stamford, CT. Friends may visit on Thursday, April 16, 2009 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main Street, New Canaan, CT 06840. Contributions can be made to the Stamford Hospital, Stamford, CT.
