Obituary of Edythe Krankota
Edythe M. Grallo (Coppola) Krankota passed away with her family by her side on April 6, 2009.
She was the daughter of the late Samuel and Grace Grallo of New Canaan. Edythe was born in New Canaan on January 29, 1918 where she lived all of her life.
She was the co-owner, along with her husband Benjamin Coppola, of The Appliance Service Shop and Dagmar’s Restaurant both located in New Canaan. She was an exceptional saleswoman who worked at The Tom Curley Shop, Helen Roosevelt’s and Silliman’s Hardware all in New Canaan.
She was pre-deceased by her husbands Benjamin Coppola and Andrew Krankota, her brothers Louie Grallo and Sam Grallo, and her grandson William Marc St. Pierre.
She is survived by her daughters Patrica St. Pierre and her husband Bill of Wilton, CT and Barbara Wilkes and her husband Thom of Fernandina Beach, Florida, her sisters Mary Curcio of New Canaan and Angela Branca of South Carolina, her grandsons Scott St. Pierre and Timothy St. Pierre and his wife Jenn, her granddaughters Victoria Jelliff Espin and her husband Ivan and Laura Jelliff. Also her great grandsons, Marc St. Pierre, Dylan St. Pierre, and Ryan St. Pierre and Collin Espin and Erik Espin along with many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may call at Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main Street, New Canaan, on Saturday, April 11, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. Service will be at 12:30 pm at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, New Canaan.
