Obituary of Karin Kyles
Karin Ringwald Kyles, age 72, a New Canaan resident for over 37 years, died Friday, January 11, 2013, at her New Canaan home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Oceanside, NY, on August 25, 1940, she was the daughter of the late John and Teresa Spilker Ringwald. She was the loving wife of John Morrow Kyles, Sr.
Karin lived in Valley Stream, NY, during her childhood. She attended grade school there and graduated from The Cathedral School of Saint Mary in Garden City, NY. She also attended Wilson College in Chambersburg, PA. While residing in New Canaan Karin founded Connecticut Communities for Drug-Free Youth. She also enjoyed gardening in her yard and baking with her grandchildren. Karin loved spending time with friends and especially her family. A favorite family vacation destination was Basin Harbor Club on Lake Champlain in Vermont. She will be remembered for her kindness toward others and her love of life.
In addition to her husband, John, of 50 years, Karin is survived by her devoted children, her daughter, Amy Kyles Sullivan, and her husband, Michael Sullivan, and their children, Matthew John Sullivan and Abigail Teresa Sullivan, all of Old Greenwich, CT, and her son, John Morrow Kyles, Jr., and his wife, Stefanie Kyles, and their children, Charlotte Maye Kyles and John Morrow Kyles III, all of Ridgefield, CT.
She is also survived by her two brothers, John Ringwald of Coopersburg, PA, and Frederick Ringwald of Fresno, CA.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2013, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Mark’s Church, 111 Oenoke Ridge Road, New Canaan, CT 06840. Interment will be private.
