Obituary of Claudia Martimucci
Claudia F. Martimucci, age 74, a New Canaan resident for over 37 years died Friday January 4, 2013 in Norwalk Hospital. Born in New York City March 7, 1938 she was the daughter of the late Francis and Louise Reagan Volpe. Claudia was the wife of Richard A. Martimucci.
In addition to her husband, Claudia is survived one daughter, Lisa Annunziato and her husband John and their children Desiree and Christina of Ridgefield, CT.
Claudia was an extraordinary person, extremely intelligent and well educated. She excelled in high school, graduating as Valedictorian from Commerce High School in 1955. She was accepted at the then elitist college, the City College of New York and majored in French. In her freshman year, she met a senior who was majoring in engineering and as the say the rest was history.
She co-founded RAM Engineering, with her husband as a full-time officer and working partner in the new corporation, a firm they started after her husband’s successful career in the Environmental field. For the next thirty-seven years she was actively engaged in the business, contributing in all phases of the company operations. She qualified the firm as a WBE in several States and supervised all Administrative and most Engineering Operations.
Funeral Services were held on Sunday January 6, 2012, at the Hoyt Funeral Home, New Canaan. The Rev. Anne Richards from St Marks Church officiated. Interment was in the family plot in Woodlawn Cemetery, Bronx, NY.
