Anita Grasso, 81, of New Canaan, CT passed away on February 14, 2014 at Norwalk Hospital with her loving family at her side. Anita was born on July 21, 1932 in Lucera, Foggia, Italy to the late Giuseppe and Maria Altieri DeVivo. Anita received her education in Italy and worked for many years as a Seamstress. On September 26, 1955 Anita married the love of her life Anthony P. Grasso, Sr in Lucera, Italy. In addition to her beloved husband Tony, Mrs. Grasso is survived by her two loving sons, Anthony P. Grasso, Jr and Joseph M. Grasso, Sr both of New Canaan and her loving daughter, Elizabeth A. Buzzeo and her husband Ralph, of New Canaan. Anita is also survived by her three brothers, Mario DeVivo, of Newtown, CT, Armando DeVivo, of Italy and Leonardo Devivo, of Norwalk, CT and three sisters, Elvira Marotta, of New Canaan, Lucille Pellegrino, of New Jersey and Enza Ruggieri of Norwalk. Anita is pre-deceased by her brother Antonio Devivo. Anita is also survived by her adored grandchildren, Samantha J. Grasso and Joseph M. Grasso, Jr. In addition, Anita leaves behind her two sisters in law, Grace Grasso and Connie DeLong and her brother in law, John Pagliano. Visitation for Anita will be Monday, February 17, 2014 from 4 – 8pm at Hoyt Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Aloysius Church, in New Canaan on February 18, 2014 at 10am. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
