I am a first oousin. Our fathers were brothers. My Dad was Wm Eugene Scheele, better known as Gene. Tina and I were very friendly when we younger, grade school, when Tina and family lived in northern VA prior to their transfer to what is now Taiwan.

On behalf of the New York Society of Women Artists (NYSWA), I wanted to express the sorrow of all our members at the passing of Tina. She was a long term and valued member of our group, enlivening our exhibits with her geometric and vibrant paintings. She was also the efficient recording secretary for our meetings and provided a much-needed service. We shall dearly miss her. Sincerely, Anne Stanner, President of NYSWA

The last time I saw Tina, was at her grandchild Emma's communion party. Out of nowhere she came up to my table and kissed me on the cheek (as she had done to other people in the room), and said "please don't get up", but of course I got up anyway. This was her dear way of saying "hello", but now I feel she was really saying goodbye. Tina was indeed a classy and very fine lady. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

I met Tina in 1990 at the Loft Artists. She was so much a part of the LAA and did so much to help the organization flourish. There was never a time that she didn't step forward to do what needed to be done. Even after she became an Emeritus member and didn't have to volunteer, she continued to volunteer. She was always direct, to the point and at the same time warm and open, gentle and considerate. I will miss knocking on her studio door. i will miss her and am so glad that I have several pieces of her work. Her creative spirit will always be with me.

I am so sad to hear this news. I had the pleasure of getting to know Tina through our mutual involvement at Silvermine several years ago. She was one of the most involved and dedicated artists I had the pleasure of working with there. She was always volunteering for something and I was glad to collaborate with her so often! A talented artist and a generous person - she will be missed. My heart goes out to her family and friends.

Tina's talent and professionalism was a great inspiration to us all at the LAA. She and I would sometimes have lunch together since our studios were nearby and our conversations were always about art; she was generous with her knowledge and both frank and fair with her appraisals. I will miss her very much and send my deepest sympathy to her family. Phyllis

I am so very sad to hear of Tina's passing. I had hoped she'd have more time. I always looked forward to seeing her at Noho Gallery meetings, sometimes finding her having dinner at Pepe Giallo where we'd have a glass of wine together. She was a woman of quiet strength and intensity, warm but not gushy, interested but not intrusive. I loved the way she pursued her art and will treasure the pair of her painted constructions in my collection. My sincere condolences to her loved ones.

Tina was such a good friend. she had a steadiness that was reassuring, a modesty in terms of her achievements, and a willing spirit.
She also practiced economy of motion. We traveled to the city together many times and took one or two longet trips, and I began to notice how effortlessly she moved from one thing to the next. It was as though I was pirouetting in place. She was always ready and waiting for me, but never imipatient.
We own several pieces by Tina. John's favorites are the three small wooden wall pieces that he sees from his favorite leather chair. It's as though the atoms are shooting off into the room.
Wednesday last week we watched a Mets game together on TV (her Yankees were playing late, in California). "Why don't we go to a game?" she said. Wish we could. She was a peach.

Tina and I had studios in the same building at Yale and Towne. We first met in 1985 (?) She was two doors away and we often ate lunch together. She was so consistent, her work was so well thought out and she never wavered from her goal. I have always loved Tina's paintings but I was lucky enough to buy one of her Mono Types which hangs in my home. And her generosity was endless. She was always someone at Loft Artists who was ready to volunteer for the job and In 2011, she arranged and curated a show for me at the Pound Ridge Library which was so important for my work. I will always think of her outside that library and in her studio on the 4th floor at Yale and Towne. Tina, you will be missed by so many artists and friends.

I was so sad to hear the news about Tina. As a fellow Loft Artist, I knew and collaborated on art shows with Tina over the years in Stamford. I remember her no-nonsense, down-to-earth character and how she made seemingly complicated tasks look easy. I loved her little square paintings. She was an artist through and through. Tina, you will be missed and remembered.

Tina had a studio across from mine at the Loft Artists. On Mondays she would come over and have "lunch." Lunch with Tina was a brief affair, but meaningful. Mostly, I told her what I was up to. Sometimes she would ask my opinion on what she was doing and I would trot over and see her quite neat studio. Tina and I also shared being co chairs of a gallery show at Silvermine. I was so grateful to have her as a partner, because she was so well organized. She made my job easier. Tina also kept the Loft Artists well organized, coordinating the sitting schedule. All these tasks seemed so effortless when Tina was involved. She had such a good heart and never burdened anyone with her problems.
I went to see Tina less than a week before she died. At first she couldn't remember my name, but then said, "How's your new house?" I said, "Its wonderful" and she smiled broadly. I blew her a kiss goodbye.
