Lillian L. Ready, age 84, a longtime resident of New Canaan died peacefully on Friday July 13, 2012 in Waveny Care Center after a long journey with Alzheimer’s. Born in Katonah, NY on May 12, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Stella Linski. Lillian was the wife of the late Robert P. Ready, a selectman in New Canaan, who died in 1985. Her three sisters Agnes, Annie and Grace also predeceased her. After moving to New Canaan in 1938, Lillian attended New Canaan Schools. She worked for many years in several banks in town. After retiring, she enjoyed spending time with her sisters and her long time friends, and caring for her grandchildren. Her son Robert Ready and his wife Cathy of Greenville, SC and her daughter Robin Ready Osborn and her husband Leigh of Fairfield, CT survive Lillian. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Patrick and Ryan Osborn, and Robert Jr. and Mary-Kate Ready. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday July 20, 2012 at 10AM in St. Aloysius Church, Cherry Street, New Canaan, CT 06840. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, New Canaan. The Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main Street, New Canaan, CT has charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Waveny Care Center.
