Obituary of Joan Wosahla
WOSAHLA, JOAN LINDSAY (NEE HALLE) – Joan Lindsay Wosahla, age 74, died Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Waveny Care Center in New Canaan after a courageous battle with cancer. Born and raised in the Bronx, Joan was a longtime New Canaan resident, having lived in both Ridgefield and Stamford. She retired this year from the New Canaan Police Department, where she worked as secretary to three police chiefs over 17 years.
Daughter of the late Dexter Halle and Margaret Campbell Halle, Joan was married for 53 years to Robert E. Wosahla. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Steve Wosahla, and his wife, Kelly, of Bristow, VA; two daughters, Karen Zeibak of Ridgefield, CT and Joanne Wosahla of Englewood, NJ; and two grandchildren, Caeley and Adam Wosahla. She is predeceased by her brother, Robert C. Halle.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 2, 2012 at 10:00am at St Aloysius Catholic Church, Cherry Street, New Canaan, CT.
Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Whittingham Cancer Center, 34 Maple Street, Norwalk Hospital, Norwalk, CT 06856.
