Obituary of Jeme' Millar
Jeme S. Millar, age 43, a resident of Wilton, CT formerly of Chewelah, WA died Sunday evening May 6, 2012 at Norwalk Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born in Newport Beach, California June 9, 1968, she is the daughter of Kenneth Sorenson and Diana Price Kinzler both of Chewelah, WA. Jeme is the wife of Peter F. Millar of Wilton.
Jeme spent her early years in southern California. Jeme was raised in Chewelah, Washington a rural town in the northeast portion of the state. It is here that she learned the value of a tight knit community. Jeme was active in high school athletics and was a varsity cheerleader. Jeme met her husband Peter whilst taking a break from college and working for a family in Rye, New York. Together they moved to California to complete their undergraduate studies. They were married on September 10, 1993 in Westchester County. They resided in San Jose, California through the summer of 1997. Jeme enjoyed camping and hiking in the Sierra Mountains as well as the coastal beaches of central and northern California.
Upon returning to New York in the fall of 1997, Jeme began her career as a Registered Nurse. As an R.N., Jeme held positions at several hospitals: St. Vincent’s in Harrison, Columbia Presbyterian in Manhattan, Stamford Hospital in Stamford and Silver Hill in New Canaan. Jeme eagerly stepped away from her career to raise her boys, Sean and Colin. Jeme and her family moved to Wilton, Connecticut in the spring of 2007. Jeme returned to the workforce once her boys were in grammar school. Jeme provided compassionate care to the elderly of Wilton, Westport and Norwalk with Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Fairfield County.
In addition to her parents and her husband Jeme is survived by her two sons, Sean Patrick Millar and Colin Peter Millar, of Wilton, CT and her sister LeeAyra Piccini of Renton, WA.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 11, 2012 at 11:00 Am in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 225 Danbury Road, Wilton, CT 06897 Interment will be private. The family will receive friends Thursday evening May 10, 2012 at the Hoyt Funeral home, 199 Main Street, New Canaan, CT 06840 from 4 to 8 PM.
