Obituary of Gemma Socci
Gemma M. Socci, a longtime New Canaan resident, died Thursday April 26, 2012 in Wilton Meadows Healthcare Center. Born in New Canaan May 12, 1923, she was the daughter of the late John and Louise Tiani Socci.
Upon graduating from New Canaan High School, (class of 1942), she went on to work at
Conde Nast Publications in Greenwich where she worked until the company relocated. She also worked for Pac-Kit Safety Equipment in Norwalk until her retirement.
Survivors include her sister, Domenica Nazzaro of Wilton, her nieces: Linda Johnson and husband Mark of Shelton, Donna Nazzaro of Danbury, and Janet Nazzaro of Westport.
She was pre-deceased by her brother Roger Socci and wife Elizabeth Regan Socci and her brother-in-law Jerry Nazzaro.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday May 1, 2012 at St Aloysius Church, Cherry Street New Canaan at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in St Johns Cemetery, Norwalk. Friends may call at the Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main Street, New Canaan Tuesday morning from 9:00 AM to 10:30AM.
