Anthony (Tony) Marchelletta 62, former longtime resident of New Canaan Ct and most recently Palm Coast, Fl. passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2012 after his courageous battle with lung cancer in hospice care in Palm Coast, FL. Tony was born at St Joseph’s hospital in Stamford CT February 26, 1950. He was the son of the late Joseph and Caroline Marchelletta of Putnam Road, New Canaan. He was predeceased by his brother Billy Marchelletta. He is survived by his wife Rhonda Brown Marchelletta a step daughter Crystal Rappoccio and her two children Kelsey Rappoccio and Briana Condie, of Palm Coast, FL. Tony graduated from New Canaan High in 1969. He then became a parking attendant in New Canaan and was an auxiliary police officer as well. He also attended the police academy in Meriden CT and was hired as a Ridgefield police officer for several years and then transferred to .the New Canaan police department. He was also a volunteer fireman and member of the Knights of Columbus. Tony loved flying planes, playing the drums (played in several bands and was an accomplished drummer), golfing, boating and his fast cars. Frank Sinatra and Buddy Rich were his idols. Tony was a self-employed Owner-Broker of Palm Coast Florida Real Estate and Property Management. Tony loved spending time with his family and friends, his two dog’s Maxie and Tinkerbelle, beach outings and cruises. “Tony will be remembered for his contagious laugh and his big smile”.
