Dorothy C. Smyle, age 86 born October 31, 1925 in Norwalk, CT. She passed away peacefully at her home March 11, 2012 in Stamford, CT. She was predeceased by her husband Leonard Smyle. She was a cancer survivor for thirty years. The last six years was a constant struggle. She lived in Stamford, CT, most of her life. She worked for the Stamford school system for twelve years. She loved to play bingo, go to the casino’s and lunches at the beach. Most of all she loved her children, fifteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. Dorothy is survived by a brother George Arena of Norwalk. Her daughters Shirley Vukson of North Carolina; Anita Manginelli and her husband Angelo of Norwalk; Betty Smyle, Marsha Ferris and her husband James of North Carolina; Faye Smyle of Napa California; Candace and her husband James Davis of Stamford; her sons Harold Smyle of Long Island, NY; Bruce Smyle and wife Donna of Stamford and several nieces and nephews. Services will be on Wednesday, March 14th, 2012 at 12:30pm at Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main Street, New Canaan, CT. Interment will follow at Independent Lodge Cemetery in Darien, CT.
