Teresa Casciari, resident of New Canaan, died at home Wednesday, February 20, 2012, surrounded by her family. She was born in Mammola, Italy on March 29, 1927. She came to the United States with her parents in 1932, and lived the rest of her life in New Canaan. Married for fifty-eight years, Teresa was the wife of the late Joseph D. Casciari, who died this past August. She was the daughter of the late Nicola Raschella and Maria Elisabetta Immacalata Fuda Raschella. Teresa is survived by her three sons, Joseph Dominick II of New City, NY, Dino of Darien, CT, and David of Ridgefield, CT, and seven grandchildren, Kristine, Joseph Dominick III, David Jr., Meredith, Emily, Nicholas, and Elizabeth. She is also survived by her sister Carmela DeMichiel of Stamford, CT. Teresa was a life-long parishioner of St. Aloysius in New Canaan and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She taught gym class at St Aloysius for many years when her children were students at St Aloysius School. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 10 AM in St. Aloysius Church in New Canaan with interment in Lakeview Cemetery.
