Obituary of Carol Concannon

Carol Anne Concannon, age 73, of New Canaan, Connecticut, formerly a longtime resident of Manhasset, New York, died Friday, February 17, 2012 in Norwalk Hospital. Born in Jamaica Estates, New York on January 3, 1939, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Anne Breitung. Before she started her family, Carol worked as a registered nurse at Flushing Hospital, New York. More recently, Carol worked for Polo/Ralph Lauren Manhasset in a management position, and as a Nurse Supervisor for Hillside Manor Home Health Care in Jamaica Estates, New York. Carol was a proud Georgetown University parent five times over, avid crossword puzzle enthusiast and doting grandmother. Carol is survived by her two sons, Michael and his wife, Megan, of Bay Shore, New York; Kevin and his wife, Cristin, of New York City; three daughters, Margaret Joyce and her husband, Timothy; Patricia DeSantis and her husband, Philip; and Eileen Silva, all of New Canaan. Carol is also survived by her grandchildren Maggie, Dennis, Christopher and Mary Joyce; Clare, Katie and Peter DeSantis; George and Brian Concannon; and Holly, Henry and Mark Silva. Her sister, Dorothy Clare of Morris Plains, New Jersey, four nephews and a niece, also survive. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 24 at St. Aloysius Church, New Canaan. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 23 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Fairchild Funeral Home, 1570 Northern Boulevard, Manhasset, New York.
