Vivien Elizabeth Augurt Obituary

Vivien Elizabeth Marjory Stephanie Augurt passed away peacefully on January 27, 2026, surrounded by love and her family.

Vivien was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt whose kindness, strength, and unwavering love shaped the lives of those around her. She found her greatest joy in her family and took deep pride in the people they became. Her warmth, humor, and caring spirit will be remembered by all who knew her.

She was an avid athlete who, in her younger years, was a competitive swimmer. She loved skiing, tennis, hiking and continued to swim for most of her adult life.  Vivien earned her Master of Fine Arts from St. Martin’s School of Art where she studied dress design.  She was a wonderful artist, specializing in watercolors.  Vivien expressed her love most beautifully through her cooking. The kitchen was her happy place, where she poured care, tradition, and generosity into every meal. Family meals were cherished times—moments of laughter, connection, and comfort that brought everyone together around her table.

She is survived by her two daughters, Stephanie Kirwan and Tonie Costello, and their spouses, Andy Kirwan and Erik Costello; her four cherished grandchildren, Emery, Ryan and Thomas Kirwan, and Olivia Costello, who brought her endless happiness; and her beloved sister Barbara Hock, along with her niece Susie Hock and nephew Robert Hock, with whom she shared a close and loving bond. She is predeceased by her loving parents Walter and Susie Strach, and her beloved husband Thomas Augurt. Her bond with, and love for Tom was exceptional. Not a day in the 20 years they were apart did she not think of him and the wonderful life they shared.

Vivien’s legacy lives on through the love she gave so freely and the countless moments of guidance, laughter, and comfort she provided. She will be deeply missed and forever held in the hearts of her family.
