Mary Jane Kopal (nee Schmidt), 86, a longtime resident of New Canaan, CT died on May 7 after a long illness. She was a loving wife, caring mother and grandmother, avid traveler and cook, and lover of games of all kinds.

In addition to her husband, Jane leaves behind daughters Helene (Hans) and Lauren, and son William (Laura) and beloved grandchildren Erin (Jeff), Emily, Colin and Evan. She is also survived by her brother, Frank as well as many cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.
She is interred at Lakeview Cemetery, New Canaan.
