Obituary of Mark Bennett Brown
Mark Bennett Brown
Passed away peacefully after a long illness on the morning of April 28, 2025.
Born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Mark was the beloved son of Dr. Richard Bennett Brown and Mary McLeman Brown. A devoted husband, father, brother, and friend, Mark brought warmth, humor, and kindness into the lives of all who knew him.
Mark was an extraordinary father who poured unconditional love into his children each and every day. To him, family was everything—he often said that his greatest joy came from the time he spent with his wife and children. His devotion to his family was unwavering, and his love was the foundation of their home.
A man of many talents, Mark was a gifted and passionate musician. He played in several bands and was proud to have written and composed an impressive catalog of original music—leaving behind a lasting legacy that his children and loved ones will cherish forever.
In 2025, Mark was honored as AV Living Legend #58, a distinction that meant the world to him. He felt deeply grateful to be recognized by colleagues he admired and was proud to call friends.
Mark is survived by his loving wife, Danielle Gellella Brown, and their two children, Gia and Clyde Brown. He is also survived by his brother, Dr. Daniel Brown, his sister-in-law, Dr. Kelly Brown, and his niece, Devon Brown.
A wake will be held at Hoyt Funeral Home on Sunday, May 4th, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., with friends and family welcome at the family’s home directly following the service.
Mark’s presence, creativity, and gentle spirit will be missed beyond measure, but his love and music will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Cancer Can Rock, an organization that meant a great deal to Mark. It gives musicians battling cancer the opportunity to record their original music professionally—something Mark was incredibly proud to be a part of.
Mark’s own session, including a performance and interview, is featured on their site. We’d love for you to take a moment to watch it and hear directly from him—it’s a beautiful piece of who he was.
