I remember Micky so well growing up. I always looked forward to going to Aunt Ida's and Uncle Joe's big farmhouse and visiting the whole, big family, but I think the highlight for me was seeing Micky because he was just so fun to be around. He always had that great, infectious laugh and the sparkle in his eyes. He was also one of the most genuine and kind persons I've known. You just couldn't not be happy when you were around him. I am so glad that I was able to see him again at mom's funeral. He was very special to her being her first Godchild. My deepest condolences to his son, Michael J and all his brothers and sisters. He will be greatly missed.

I’m really going to miss Michael even though the last year or two we didn’t get much of a chance to connect. I always knew he was there, willing and wanting to listen, to be a friend, to give loving advice and to share not just his heartfelt wisdom but his contagious and joyous laughter. I’m glad we had reconnected in our adulthood and continued our friendship. I’ll miss visiting horses with him and many other things... like when he showed up at my house with all of his painting gear to school me on painting my sunroom! Or the time he installed a screen door inside my house to separate my cats who were new to each other. The reward was staying over for a dinner of macaroni and meatballs! Those were just the more recent memories that touch my heart. Rides home from high school in his white van on two wheels, squirt bottles in the hallways of NCHS! Those are a couple more! Watching movies with cousin Joey and my brother Freddie at the State theater in Springdale, and causing a little mischief in our young years, here and there...! Mickey’s spirit was and is larger than life. I pray he’s in his Father’s loving presence. Love and condolences to the entire family for your loss. He will really be missed. Cousin Joan

Dear Cousins, family and friends - as we grieve over the loss of Michael, who I will always remember fondly as “Mickey”, please know how much he was loved. He was a sweet, kind and generous soul, always willing to help someone, and it seemed that behind that twinkle in his eyes there was a kid wanting to come out and play. He will always be forever young to me and will always have a special place in my heart.
May he Rest In Peace with Aunt Ida and Uncle Joe.
Love you all, Lois and CJ

Very sad to hear about Michael's passing, he was a wonderful person. Other than in our younger years or at family funerals/weddings, I would see Mickey at events where my brother, Joe, and cousin Joan were also gathered. Mickey was always in good spirits no matter what his personal circumstances, we would discuss what was happening in our lives. He will be missed. My sympathies to Michael's son, Michael, and all his brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews. Vincent DeCarlo
