| Val C. Buonaiuto, 75, a lifelong resident of New Canaan, died Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at Norwalk Hospital.
Born December 22, 1934, in New Canaan, he was the son of the late Patsy and Antonetta Annunziata Buonaiuto. Val graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1956 and attained a Masters degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. He worked for Perkin-Elmer in Norwalk and Danbury as a Mechanical Engineer for over 30 years and was the Director of Product Assurance on the Hubbell Space Telescope Project. Val was an active member of the New Canaan Knights of Columbus and was a past Grand Knight. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Buonaiuto of New Canaan, his chidren: Robert J. Buonaiuto of Trumbull, Patricia Kekelik-Terpstra of Norwalk, Patrick S. Buonaiuto of New Canaan, Andrew J. Buonaiuto of Newtown, CT and Matthew J. Buonaiuto of Prospect, CT. His sister, Catherine Buonaiuto of New Canaan, 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren also survive. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at St. Aloysius Church, New Canaan at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, New Canaan. The family will receive friends at the Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main St. on Friday, June 25, 2010 from 4-8 PM.
